Emergency Preparedness Handbook

The City of North Salt Lake has the potential for natural hazards such as earthquakes, severe weather, flooding etc. and man-made threats like cyber-attacks, acts of terrorism etc. It’s not a matter of if, but a matter of when, we will face one of these emergencies.

Planning for emergencies ahead of time will help us be better prepared to deal with the emergency when it happens.

  • What kind of emergencies may you face where you live?
  • Where you work?
  • Where you go to school?
  • Where you go for fun?
  • Where will you or your family be when the emergency happens?
  • Sit down as a family and talk about these things.
  • Have a game plan ahead of time.

Emergencies and disasters can strike quickly and without warning and can force you to evacuate your neighborhood or confine you to your home. What would you do if basic services – water, gas, electricity or telephones – were cut off?

The City has put together a basic preparedness handbook for you and your family to help plan for an emergency. In it you will find suggestions for preparing your home with supplies and equipment and information to help you know what to do for possible emergencies in our area.

Plan today, don't wait for tomorrow!
