Splash Pad to Remain Closed until Further Notice

Splash Pad closed - post website

As a City, we are following all County and State guidelines in handlinSplash Pad closed - post websiteg COVID-19. Our current splash pad opening date will be determined as State health authorities move us into a safer risk category that allows the City to comply with those guidelines.

State leaders released Version 4.4 of the State’s "Phased Guidelines for the General Public and Businesses to Maximize Public Health and Economic Reactivation" on May 15, 2020 and on the same day moved us into the yellow, low-risk, category.

During the yellow risk category, the Governor’s Phased Guidelines, version 4.4, indicate that gatherings should not exceed more than 50 people. In addition, no matter how many people use the splash pad, participants should be using careful social distancing and face masks when not able to reasonably socially distance.

The City cannot control the number of people using the splash pad or whether or not people will comply with social distancing guidelines. For this reason, the splash pad will be closed until the State moves into a safer risk category that allows for more permissive use of the splash pad and in a way that the City can comply with those future guidelines.

Thank you for your cooperation as we all work together to ensure the health and safety of our community.
