Registering to Vote

Voter Registration Requirements

Persons planning to vote in a City of North Salt Lake election must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a U.S citizen
  • Be at least 18 years of age at the time of the next election
  • Cannot be currently incarcerated for a felony
  • Utah must be principle place of residence 30 days immediately before an election

Re-Registering to Vote

It is necessary to re-register to vote in the following instances:

  • Changing your name
  • Moving place of residence (even if moving within the same county, city, or voting precinct)
  • Registering with a political party or changing your party affiliation

Registration Dates & Locations

Mail-In Voter Registration Forms must be postmarked 30 days prior to an election. You may register to vote in person at the County Clerk's office up until 15 days before an election.

Online Voter Registration

If you have a valid Utah driver's license, you may register to vote online.

How to Obtain a Mail-In Voter Registration Form

Mail-In Voter Registration Forms may be obtained at North Salt Lake City Hall, the County Clerk's Office, county libraries, and post offices.
